Remember my little hexagon paper piecing project?

And the vintage pieced panel I inherited…
(You can read about the here and here)

Well I finally turned them into cushions!

I had lots of fun doing these. The red, black and white one I hand pieced together myself. The colours match our living space nicely. It was a great little hand sewing project to take around with me everywhere and work on it when I’ve has a bit of spare time. I think it took me around 4 months to do all the hand piecing and then another month to finally turn it into a cushion!

I found the buttons for the back at spotlight. I think  they are a perfect match!!

The colourful cushion was made from a panel of English paper pieced hexagons whom I inherited from a cousins mother-in-law. I have no idea how old it is but it is a delicious mixture on retro fabrics, and her hand piecing was very neat with very tiny stitches! I had a great time turning it into a cushion and it now lives on our bed.

I’ve decided I really like the look of hexagon patchwork. I’ve already started cutting out some more hexagons to carry around and hand stitch together when I have some spare time… not even sure what I’ll use the pieced panel for yet!

English paper piecing you are so addictive!!!
